The Xiaomi YU7 is a battery-electric sport utility vehicle developed by Xiaomi. Introduced in China on June 26, 2025, it was the company’s first SUV, expanding its passenger-car range beyond the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. The original range comprised the rear-wheel-drive YU7 and the all-wheel-drive YU7 Pro and YU7 Max; additional Standard and GT versions followed in May 2026. (prtimes.jp)
Introduction and model development
Xiaomi positioned the YU7 as a high-performance luxury SUV. At its June 2025 launch, Chinese starting prices were RMB253,500 for the YU7, RMB279,900 for the Pro, and RMB329,900 for the Max. The company reported more than 240,000 locked-in orders during the first 18 hours after launch; this figure described orders rather than completed vehicle deliveries. (ir.mi.com)
The range expanded on May 21, 2026. Xiaomi’s 2026 interim report records the introduction of a lower-priced YU7 Standard, starting at RMB233,500 with a rated range of 643 kilometres, and a YU7 GT, starting at RMB389,900. The GT was the first model developed with extensive involvement from Xiaomi’s European automotive research and design centre in Munich. These additions make the model year important when interpreting references to a “standard” YU7: the original 2025 entry model and the version formally introduced as YU7 Standard in 2026 have different range specifications. Body and interior
The YU7 combines a sloping roofline with an SUV body approximately five metres long. Xiaomi’s published regulatory information gave a length of 4,999 millimetres, width of 1,996 millimetres, and wheelbase of 3,000 millimetres, with height varying by configuration. (new-ams.c.mi.com)
A defining interior feature is the Xiaomi HyperVision Panoramic Display. Rather than relying solely on an instrument panel directly behind the steering wheel, it uses three Mini LED displays and a projection arrangement to present information across the lower windshield area. Xiaomi specifies a display span of approximately 1.1 metres. Configurable content includes driving instruments, navigation, media, time, and weather. (mi.com)
The cockpit also incorporates a 16.1-inch central touchscreen and provision for rear entertainment displays. A passenger-accessible remote control panel provides access to vehicle, navigation, and entertainment functions. The cabin design includes power-adjustable rear seats and reclining front-seat arrangements marketed by Xiaomi as “zero-gravity” seats. (mi.com)
Electric powertrain and original variants
The original 2025 variants differed in electric-motor output, driven wheels, battery capacity, and rated range. Xiaomi’s launch specifications listed the following battery and range combinations. Range figures use the China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), rather than representing a guaranteed distance in all driving conditions. (mi.com)
| Original 2025 variant | Battery capacity | Advertised CLTC range | Chinese launch starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| YU7 | 96.3 kWh | 835 km | RMB253,500 |
| YU7 Pro | 96.3 kWh | 770 km | RMB279,900 |
| YU7 Max | 101.7 kWh | 760 km | RMB329,900 |
The battery and range figures are those presented for the launch configurations; the prices are the original launch prices, not a statement of subsequent retail pricing. (mi.com)
Xiaomi names the drive system HyperEngine V6s Plus. Despite the “V6” designation, this is an electric-motor product name, not a reference to a six-cylinder internal-combustion engine. For the original high-performance Max, Xiaomi advertised acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds and a maximum speed of 253 km/h. These are manufacturer-published performance figures for the relevant configuration, not specifications shared by every YU7. (mi.com)
High-voltage architecture and charging
The original YU7 range uses an 800-volt-class electrical architecture with silicon-carbide power electronics. Xiaomi identified this high-voltage platform as standard equipment across the three launch variants. (ir.mi.com)
At launch, the company advertised a maximum charging rate of 5.2C and a fastest 10–80 percent charging time of 12 minutes for the high-rate configuration. It also presented a claim of up to 620 kilometres of rated range added in 15 minutes. These are distinct measurements: charging time describes a change in battery state of charge, whereas kilometres added express the corresponding energy in terms of a test-cycle range calculation. They should not be treated as identical capabilities across all battery versions. (mi.com)
Driver assistance and electronic architecture
Xiaomi’s 2025 interim report describes a four-in-one domain-control module integrating driver assistance, cockpit functions, vehicle control, and communications. The launch range also included LiDAR as standard and used NVIDIA’s DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform, with Xiaomi quoting computing performance of up to 700 trillion operations per second. (ir.mi.com)
The company described the accompanying software as an end-to-end assisted-driving system. Its sensors, computing hardware, and software therefore belong to the vehicle’s driver-assistance specification; the presence of those components alone is not a claim that the vehicle can perform unrestricted autonomous driving.
