Forward Alliance and civilian preparedness
Wu founded Forward Alliance in 2020. Its activities include training civilians to respond to natural disasters and other emergencies, with an emphasis on community organization and support for professional emergency responders. The organization’s work connects national-security preparedness with practical civilian skills rather than limiting preparedness to military service. (en.wikipedia.org)
Forward Alliance works with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community participants to develop emergency-response networks for both peacetime and conflict. Its training has included search and rescue, bleeding control, and trauma-response skills. These programs are intended to help residents assist their communities before professional help arrives.
