      "text": "Honor's chief executive Li Jian announced the standard model's price on 24 September, four days before the event, which was unusual for the company. The 16 GB + 512 GB version was listed at 6,499 yuan, with a 5,999-yuan price for the anniversary of the Magic series and an effective price of 5,499 yuan for buyers eligible for China's national subsidy.       "text": "The standard Magic9 is the most compact model in the lineup, with a 6.37-inch display. The Pro Max has a 6.8-inch display and a larger battery, and it uses a more advanced chip. The third model, which some pre-launch reports called the Super Edition, has a 6.81-inch display, a battery of about 11,000 mAh and an active cooling fan intended to limit thermal throttling during long sessions of demanding use.       "text": "The standard Magic9 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chip manufactured on a 3-nanometer process, according to specification databases. Some pre-launch reports instead named the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the Pro Max was expected to use the faster 2-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The display refresh rate is 120 Hz across the series, although reports disagreed about the panel technology used on the standard model.\n\nThe rear camera on the standard model consists of three sensors: a 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5× optical zoom. The periscope design folds the light path inside the body, which allows a telephoto lens without a protruding bump. The front camera is a 55-megapixel sensor with a square field of view. Honor says the ARRI partnership brings colour science and cinema-oriented video modes, such as the ARRI LogC3 encoding curve, to the phone. Honor also highlighted photography and video features such as a dedicated shutter button and an AI-assisted button on the frame.\n\nHonor says the standard model's battery is an 8,000 mAh cell built from a new generation of silicon-carbon cells that the company says offers an energy density of about 1,000 Wh/L and a silicon content of around 40 per cent. The standard model supports 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. The Pro Max is listed with an 8,800 mAh battery, 100 W wired charging and 80 W wireless charging. The phones use a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, and the Pro models also add 3D face recognition. Honor rates the series at IP68, IP69 and IP69K for protection against dust and water.\n\nThe standard model measures about 8.5 mm in thickness and weighs about 209 grams, according to the published specifications."

      "text": "The phones run MagicOS 11 on Android 17. Honor has described the series as an early example of its own agent-oriented software environment, in which the AI assistant can carry out multi-step tasks on the user's behalf rather than only answering queries. Honor's operating system layer also includes an assistant called YOYO, with improved features in this generation."

      "text": "Several technical choices reflect the general trends in flagship phones. Moving to smaller process nodes, as with the 2-nanometer chip in the Pro Max, aims to reduce power use and heat output, which is especially important for high-performance semiconductor chips in thin bodies. Silicon-rich battery cells can store more energy in the same volume, but they swell more than graphite-based cells during charging, which is one reason manufacturers keep their charge ratings conservative. The use of a periscope lens and a very large main sensor reflects a wider industry move toward optical zoom and better low-light optics in place of purely software-based enhancement."

      "text": "Reviewers have praised the camera hardware and the battery life of the Pro Max, although the prominent camera module has drawn comments about its size. Some reviewers and commentators noted that the price increases in certain specifications, such as battery capacity and memory, were less favourable than those of previous generations in some markets. Availability outside China was still pending as of October 2026, and the timing of launches in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia had not been fixed."
